Hello & welcome to the competition page of the mentoring group.
The idea is to run fun competitions that we can all enter to help us both practice & learn more about, photography.
All themes chosen will consider the current situation and those who might be self isolating.
Each week the competition winner receives an Amazon voucher.
WEEK 21 - Reflect & Choose
The theme for this week is: Reflect & choose - After 20 weeks its time to do some reflection. Most of the past themes are on this website and this week the challenge is to select 5 of your past images from the past weeks images. Most of the past weeks images are there, however unfortunately a few weeks were accidentally deleted. You can select an image from any of the past themes, let me know the theme and number and I will download it for you. If you wish to take a new shot on any of the themes or have an image yourself from one of the themes that were deleted that is fine as well. Each image to be accompanied by the name of the theme and 10 to 50 words on why you think the theme and composition of the image is good and of interest to others. You might find the previous tutorial on composition useful.
Again, we are looking for just 5 images. One of the difficult aspects of entering photographic competitions is analysing your own images and picking those that firstly meet the brief and from there, those that are likely to be most interesting.
If you are taking a new photo on a past theme it can be taken on any device of your choice and cropped or edited and must be taken this week.
The way the 10 to 50 words are worded does not matter and if you need to add a few more words to help explain why you took the image that's fine. For example it maybe the positioning of the image, the colours or patterns in the image or the contrasting theme in the image just let us know why.
