This week we have seen a lot of rain and fog that has not lifted. Still always an opportunity for a photograph. This one taken just outside our house.
I noticed that some vandals had ripped off the front of the Life Bouy holders on the railing and thought it would make a good shot with the mist in the background. I wanted to take it with a very long exposure and suitable ND filter, but the near continuing traffic in front of the railings restricted to me 15 seconds. In lightroom I converted it to black and white and used the split toning to give it a slightly warmer feel. I then sharpened just the Life bouy holder as I wanted the rest of the image to remain soft. Selecting it with a radial filter and boosting the clarity right up did the trick. I then finished it off in the effects panel giving it a bit of post crop vignetting.
The Lightroom for Landscape workshop on 25th March is now fully booked. should you wish to go on the waiting list please e-mail me.
